Team
lead in SQL Server 2005, one of the first to use the new Integration Services
(SSIS) for ETL, installed SSL certificates, used Windows authentication, and
was published on SQL Server Central four times on experiences.
Initially working, head down, just doing my job; but after five months (of a
six month contract) the person responsible for getting replication working with
ASA 7, 8 and 9 into SQL Server 2005 was removed. I was given the entire
data task from beginning to end. We combined the schemas (DDL) and data
from three PYXIS products: Med Console, Supply Console and CIISafe and
replicated the data (Med/Supply only) from Sybase to SQL Server. There
were five versions of each database, and each database was built in both ASA
and SQL for the analysis leading to the single consolidated database.

Performed
all aspects of conversion from MS Access to SQL Server including normalization
and data migration. This was a
multi-step process supporting a team of programmers at SAIC for their
government customer. Work performed
through Kforce offsite in San Diego.

Because
of the fast-paced changes to this database special design considerations were
made to allow the user to add fields to the existing database without wrecking
the normalized structures.
·
Various
other customers in San Diego and Carlsbad. Maintenance, backup, tuning,
configuration, and help with resolution of issues. Also trained team of
developers in Oracle/SQL issues and performance tuning. Wrote migration
scripts for customer product upgrade on east coast.
